My first attempt at a ranger spike team:

My guild was running a punishing shot spike, so I decided to hop on. The catch: I didn't have Punishing so I brought Barrage instead. Oh, and Pin Down. I spiked with Pin Down...

300 hours of game time and only now finding out that spacebar is attack...lol

Here's mine: Wandering around in post-searing ascalon at lvl 9 wondering where my pet had gone too, going back to the place where he last died to res him only to find that he was not there, trying to get rid of the pet to tamer not working. (as he has to be with you to get rid of him)

Asking my guildmates why two days later, and was asked if I had charm animal equipped...

Just for clarification, spacebar is 'default action' which for enemies is attack. For NPC's and players it is 'approach them'.

My first character was a Warr and one of the first skills you get as a Warr is Frenzy.

I loved Frenzy and how it upped my attack speed. I used it all the time. Though later on in the game I could not understand why I was dying so easily.

It finally took a guild member to tell me that Frenzy causes you to take double damage.....DOH!!!

Moral: Always read your skills thoroughly.

Ok, i believe i've done a thousand or so stupid things, alot of them i can't remember but they probably fall into the catagory of 'biting of more than you can chew'. I've done that alot with new characters but i've found it teachs you alot about how it works and how far you can go before you end up looking for worms...

Though the stupid things i still regularly do is waste an awful amount of money messing about with dyes, i've probably spent more than 20k in the last week mising and seeing what would look best, thats with out buying black dyes... (happily i've settled on a nice gradent effect for my monks tats now)

I've also accidently sold or salavged a ton of blure, purple or gold items - In one particular incident whilst rapidly clicking the sell item button i managed to sell a green item.... oppps.... I spent an hour in SF for that lousy item and then sold it for a mere 35g... Woooo! Only saving grace was it was flints artifact... so i'd prob not got much more than that after trying to flog it for several hours. I think i would of shot myself if it was Brohn's rod or something like that.

There is prob more things i could add but alot of them are the same kinda mistakes as the rest of you, except the space bar thing... I'd like to say it was because i read the manual but no... I never do that till months after buying the game (It's amazing what those things contain!! All that infomation about how to play the game! and i just thought it was there to make the game seem better value for money)
Yeah, so if i was going to pass on a tip it would be read the damn manual! Though i know you won't i never do.....

I was in the UW and got a ecto on the first group of baddys and there was one baddy left and everyone was alive.. thought to self.. ::just wait a sec... they'll be gone.. and then pick up ecto::... bad idea.... sat and looked at it for about 2 min.... and the last baddy left... who had 1% health left... killed us all in about 1.2 sec ... bye bye ecto....=(..... got a screenie.... but it's too big of a file to fit on here.... ::sob::.... I will NEVER wait till they're all dead to go pick up my good drops.... ecto, shard, gold item, etc.

I had Gold Chaos axe UnId (req. 8) in inventory and I was selling all the junk I had found in FoW when I started lagging so I kept on clicking sell because I was impatient and well it went through the line and bye bye chaos axe...

1. Customized an expensive Longbow back in the noob days. Could have sold it for 5k or more.

2. Bought the Stinger for 8k, and sold it for 3.5k. :S

3. Bought 5 red dyes from the trader, which made me broke. Seconds later a guy with 100 red dyes speaks to me. He was selling them for a much smaller amount, and I felt like a stupid son of a bitch.

4. Forgot resurrection the first time I went to the underworld. And this was with a 3 person trapper team.

Well.. Can't think of any other stupid mistakes at the moment.

Frustrated by Spellbreaker, I made a Mist Form build in which I used water AOE against Blessed Griffons. So they gathered around me, and I froze them all ...

Oh, here's a biggie -- I was told, and long believed, that one should use an Expert Salvage kit on everything that's Highly Salvageable.

That one cost me thousands and thousands ...

One of my first trips to UW was with a large group, some friends, some just pick-ups. We had a solo monk with us, fortunately we all knew ahead of time that she was such, and pretty much just stood back waiting to pick up drops.

Well, in the midst of a heated cluster, I started worrying about the poor monk, all alone, with no help. :/ You can imagine...yes, I threw healing hands and about 2 other healing spells, all which seemingly upped HP. Needless to say, the monk was not pleased, being that she was fighting smites at the time. It threw off her game and next thing you know she was dead.

I felt like a child when I fessed up during the interrogation afterwards that it was me who did it, and not one of the others.

700 hours into the game before i realized "r" makes you run.

Didn't realize till this thread that there is a rune that makes your storage bag go from 5 to 10 slots >.<

Ohh do I ever have good mistakes for you guys, some of these were just so big that I just laughed about..... Some of these are my brother as well and I will point those out XD

1. After farming UW for days and collecting nearly 50 ectos my brother was cleaning out his inventory at the merchant and you guessed, clicked one too many times and made 300 gold for 50 ectos XD

2. While in presearing my brother found 3 black dyes while I was at work, still a noob at the time he decided to make his armor all black!

3. Got my warrior to level 14 in presearing

4. Deleted my warrior 2 days later

5. Got trapped in a stupid crack in the stairs on my way from ascalon to the desert just outside grendich.

6. Salvaged a beautiful gold staff (perf cast mods and recharge) for a +5 armor upgrade

7. Payed 20k for a run through thirsty.... I was frustrated as hell on that mission

8. Ran myself to Copperhammer mines with my warrior and henchman, took me 5 hours and several deaths past 60%dp to finally get there.

9. Customized my IDS

10. Bought a set of 15k glads armor, forgot I had bought the gloves and feet so I bought 2 sets

11. Fought through last mission to cap 100 blades, got to Rurik, rushed in and everything killed me... total time 1.5hours down the drain

12. Farmed over 1000 candy canes....

13. Spent all ym time collecting SoA axes

14. Danced naked in every town in the game, only to further lower myself buy begging for moneyXD

Hope you guys have enjoyed these

In pre-sear, one of my very first drops was Black Dye.

I promptly used it on my vest. (This was back in the day, before the prices had stablized, so I'm sure you can use your imagination as to what it might have cost in post-sear). I've never had another one drop for me, ever.
